Liverpool hairdressing group, Andrew Collinge last night scooped the award for ‘Best Salon Group’ at the star studded 2009 Hair Magazine Awards in London.
Andrew Collinge was presented with the award by Formula 1 magnate Bernie Ecclestone’s daughter, Tamara at the glitzy awards ceremony which was compered by radio & TV presenter Lauren Laverne and also filmed by MTV. Other celebrity guests on the night included Pussycat Doll’s Kimberly Wyatt, Atomic Kitten’s Jenny Frost, presenter Donna Air and singer VV Brown.
Andrew Collinge fought off fierce competition from some of London’s top hairdressing groups including Rush Hair and Hob Salons, who were all shortlisted in the same category by Hair Magazine and its readers. However, after a unanimous decision by the expert panel which included Nicky Clarke and James Brown, the Liverpool-based salon group triumphed.
Applauding Andrew Collinge, Hair Magazine commented, “Andrew Collinge is about understated elegance which sets the group apart. With over 50 years experience in the business they make you feel welcome, create a great look and also offer a free ‘Make Up To Go’ service“.
As part of the decision process mystery shoppers were also sent into the salons for treatments with Andrew Collinge coming out on top. Commenting on their Andrew Collinge visit, the mystery shopper said, ‘Staff were friendly and the stylist listened. He advised me on what cut would suit my face and I was also shown how to dry and style my own hair at home – I just love my new cut!’
Speaking after the awards, Andrew Collinge said, “I am absolutely delighted that we have received this fantastic accolade. This award is a tribute to the teams in all our salons within the Andrew Collinge group for all the excellent work they do. It has been an exciting time for the Andrew Collinge group – opening our Bold Street Graduates Salon and next year also marks 100 years of Collinge hairdressing in the region. We pride ourselves on great hairdressing within contemporary and stylish salons and continually strive to evolve and be at the forefront of the industry.”
