With fundraising at the forefront of his return to the salon floor award winning hairdresser Andrew Collinge resumes the position of trainee for one day in all his salons throughout the North West. It has been over 30 years since Andrew carried out these daily duties in a trainee capacity.
Clients will see Andrew sweeping hair, making tea and coffee, washing client’s hair and carrying out the same daily duties as all Andrew Collinge trainees do … there will be no preferential treatment!
Staff are excited about the prospect of working with Andrew whilst he undertakes his new role and we have been assured that staff will work him hard!
Andrew will be a trainee for the day in all Andrew Collinge salons over the next few months to help raise awareness and fundraise for the HAIR raising appeal which Andrew Collinge Hairdressing is heavily involved with. HAIR raising was founded by fellow celebrity crimper John Frieda and other top names in the industry, including Trevor Sorbie, Nicky Clarke and Andrew himself.
Funds raised through Andrew Collinge salons will be split 50/50 between Great Ormond Street and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. As well as Andrew’s own fundraising efforts, all Andrew Collinge salons are also busy planning their own fundraising activities and the company hopes to raise a considerable sum for two worthwhile charities.
Says Andrew Collinge “I am really looking forward to returning to the salon floor as a trainee and hopefully raising a significant amount of money for two great charities. I hope my shampooing technique isn’t too rusty, but I do make a good cup of coffee!.”
There is a national Hair raising fundraising day on Sunday 27th June 2010. The Andrew Collinge Graduates salon, Liverpool will open from 11 – 5pm on this day and all proceeds from this day will go directly to the two charities.
